In a context of global economic transformation, Adan unveils a new educational article entitled “Strategic Bitcoin Reserves: A Global Economic Issue,” written by Sébastien Bellanger, a work-study student within the association, under the supervision of Alizée Van Den Schrieck, legal expert, and Jules Dubourg, General Secretary, with contributions from Adan members.

This document explores the emergence of crypto-assets as strategic tools for states and companies, with a particular focus on the post-2024 U.S. initiative aimed at establishing an inalienable strategic Bitcoin reserve. More specifically, the article analyzes the divergent global approaches—ranging from centralized European CBDCs to pioneering strategies in El Salvador and Bhutan—and unpacks both the advantages (inflation protection, potential returns, financial independence) and the challenges (volatility, cybersecurity, regulatory frameworks) associated with such reserves, demonstrating their impact on monetary geopolitics.

As part of its educational mission, Adan—through this work by Sébastien Bellanger and supported by its members—aims to shed light for public and private stakeholders on the opportunities and challenges of crypto-assets in reshaping economic paradigms.
